Traffic Impacts
Upcoming Closure and Nightwork – Intersection of Woodoak Lane and 900 East
Crews will be milling Woodoak Lane and the southbound lanes along 900 E, Monday, August 17, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. During this time, traffic along 900 E will shift east, with one lane open in each direction. Drivers should expect delays and are encouraged to plan ahead.
Turn Restrictions

No right or left turns will be permitted from 900 East onto Woodoak Lane.

Left turns from Woodoak Lane (east of 900 East) onto 900 East will not be permitted during this work.

Access to businesses on Woodoak Lane between Vine Street and 900 East are accessible from Vine Street.

Traffic Impacts
After the intersection work at 900 East and Woodoak Lane crews will be continuing to work along 900 East toward 5700 South. As crews work their way south traffic lanes will continue to be shifted east in a single lane configuration in each direction. Drivers should use alternate routes and expect heavy delays during peak travel times, construction equipment, nighttime lighting, noise, and vibrations.
Business access will be maintained throughout construction.
Alternate Routes
Drivers wishing to avoid the Woodoak Lane and 900 East intersection should travel south on 900 East, turn right onto 5600 South, and then turn right onto Vine Street to reconnect with Woodoak Lane. Please follow all posted detour signage and use caution when traveling through the work zone.
Upcoming Work
August 20 - 21, crews will be closing the intersection of 900 E and Woodoak Lane to pave the roadway. During this time, the intersection of 900 E and Woodoak Lane will be fully closed overnight from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Detours will be in place.
How the Slide Rail System Works

This project is using a slide rail system to support deep excavation work. The system prevents trench walls and nearby structures from collapsing or caving in by providing stable support.
Crews install posts along the trench and excavate in stages, lowering steel panels between the posts using a dig-and-push method. This creates a safe, controlled work zone as the excavation deepens.
This approach improves safety and efficiency compared to traditional trenching methods and is especially useful for storm drain installation, where maintaining stable soil conditions is critical.
